OT: books on MySQL

Visit www.mysql.com, and see the online manual, for reference.
As far as learning it from the ground up... As mentioned by others, it
really depends on what your application language is. I learned it largely
from the MySQL manual in concert with the Perl DBI and DBD::mysql module
documentation.
Actually, I believe I also made good use of one of my favourite sites for
tutorials for technologies: w3schools

I may have started with w3schools and then read all three in parallel. It
was over a decade ago, so damned if I remember the -exact- order I did it
in, y'know?
That's also the site where I learned CSS3, XML, DTD, Schema, and a few
other things. They provide good instructional and educational resources.
