Sorry, I should have mention the operating system.

I am using Windows 7 Pro, 64 bit, on a home made computer, which has 
worked flawlessly for about three years.

Oh, by the way, Filepro has worked all this time, but today is when the 
trouble started with the display.  Filepro still works as I just 
corrected some addresses on a mailing list.
