autoshuf - segmentation violation

[fpgroups .]

I have not used this utility in over a decade and cannot even remember if I
need to edit map.new or map.tmp so, I copied what would be my final map to
both.

Running:  autoshuf [filename]

produces a segmentation violation error.

Questions:
1. Which do I need to edit map.new or map.tmp?
2. Does it matter if 1st line is not adding up to number of fields and
record length?
2a.  I used 'vi' - Bad idea?

Where do I go from here?
