Menu question

Windows XP Pro work stations & Novell server, fP v4.8?

I have a client (since 2000) where they enter my fP app via a standard fP menu and select which of 4 companies they wish to work in.  They asked for an additional menu function (rreport) be added to this menu which I added & e-mailed the updated menu.  Note menu function also includes an attached menu batch file.  Now when they try to enter my app fP is asking for the menu password, which never existed before.  I re-sent the menu after removing any password there, noting it did not ask me for a menu password here.  Still asked client for menu password.  I sent an updated menu file again, this time adding a simple menu password.  When entering said password, fP displays invalid password (lower case confirmed).  I had the client confirm his e-mail client did not add a file name extension to my menu name.
Not sure why this menu change has caused a password request.  Any ideas?
