How to wake up an odbc connection

Afternoon list,

If you will remember I had set up some new fpodbc processes to update our filepro files from our MRP software written in Microsoft SQLServer.  Over the past couple of months this has grwon to a batch file with over 100 line.  This batch file will be set as a scheduled task to run each evening.  Total process takes about 2hrs to run. These include 16 fpodbc data gathering processes.  The rest of the lines are filepro processes.

Everything is great except (there's always an except) one problem.

When I manually go to run this batch file about 40% of the time I get the error that a connection could not be established.  If I break out of it and rerun the batch all works well.  This only happens on the first call for a connection.  It looks like the ODBC link needs to be awakened.

Anyone have any thoughts?

Thanks in advance,
Rick Hane
