OT: ADV - handy tool

I needed an adapter to convert an old PATA drive to connect through USB for a client.  The drive would no longer boot.

MicroCenter had on sales for $16.99 the Kingwin EZ-Connect USI-2535.  With one unit you can connect to 2.5, 3.5 and SATA.  It has a power supply for the drives.  (40 pin, 44 pin & SATA connector in one unit and a separate power supply)

This is a Windows XP thru 8 or MAC 10x unit.

Another handy use for this would be to get data off of old drive without having to have it in a computer.

When I checked, there were less expensive products but these were only good for one type of drive.  

At this price, it is a good tool to have for accessing a hard drive.
