SQL (data source) quation

I am going nuts with this problem and the answer is probably
easy…
Situation:  I have a
large batch file which when executed reads data from MRP (Microsoft SQL Server) and loads it to
our production programs written in a different filePro ODBC 1.0.15.  This batch file contains 12 processes reading
different tables in MRP.  Processes run
absolutely correct, when they run.
Here is the problem: When I run the batch file the first
instance where a connection is being made to MRP via a defined data source, it
fails to find the source.  If I run it
again it works correctly and finds the data source.  This only happens on the first read of the
day.
I am running this from my workstation, running the batch
file located on one of my servers.  I set
up the data source first as a user DSN then later as a System DSN.  I also noticed that the data source (DSN)
does not appear on the server.  I would
think that since it is a system DSN it would appear there.
Any hints and / or solution would be greatly
appreciated.  I am going on vacation next
week and want this to run as a scheduled task at night.

Thank
you in advance,
