I don't even have a "subscribe" anywhere in my configs, and I use lists.
Look up the keyword "lists" instead.

And "lists" just lets it recognise a list for "L".  You want an alias, you
use an alias proper for manual addressing instead of replying.  This I can
state unqualifiedly.
