I have a routine that can update 2 fields from the sales journal in the transaction from an unprotected browse.  The posting is made from a list box.  i.e. tran(50)=fe;write tran;GOTO dp_brw.

On returning to the browse after the field is updated and then on the highlighted transaction < U > is pressed to update that transaction or any other transaction in the browse, by systeming out to the transaction file and that record, the message "Record Is being Updated - Access Denied" pops up.

If I haven't locked the record when filed(50) is posted to and executed a write tran, why should the record or records be locked?
