Need suggestions setting up temporary remote location

In 2 weeks I need to have a setup at a remote location to process
packages currently stored at that location. I would rather not to set
up a separate database. I would rather use my existing system and have
UPS labels and packing slips printed at the remote location.
I'm concerned about setting up a VPN to the database server since a
break in the network connection could mean problems with the Filepro
database. It doesn't like a broken connection in the middle of
operations. To run a local process from the remote location I would
need something like LogMeIn since I am running Filepro Windows.
The details of the current operation is that I import an order file from
the customer and generate orders in the Filepro system. A separate
process is used to both print out the customers packing slip and a
shipping record. The data from the shipping record is then exported to
a CSV file that is imported to UPS' Worldship program that prints out
the label.
Our local Worldship setup uses one computer as a database server and
other computers link to it as a workstation.
I want to be able to bring down a laptop, packing slip printer (a
standard Brother laser printer), and a UPS label printer (OKI LE810) and
print out the documents there since we need to get everything out in a
timely manner.
Any suggestions on how to set this up?
