Yeah, you are on the right track.

Sort1 would replace the default top level sort on your report. So, it's
something you might want to make sure you understand from a high level.

It's not overly intuitive to program if you have not been exposed to it
before, but I bet 95% of my reports used them.

HOWEVER I started at the -v table process before I moved on to actually
deciding what to do in @wbrk1 and what the top level sort on the report
output looked like.

 

I thought Nancy Palmquist had something on vss3.com, but maybe someone else
can send you a link to a tutorial on how to use sort/selection tables in
filePro.

So this should be used if my command is        /u/appl/fp/rreport customer
-f Placesum -u -a -v <sort processing that you indicated>    ?

i.e.  I make a -v table called   sortit     and use the sort1 command in
there?
