I really like APC since it hooks into the LAN and has a program called
PowerChute that logs every event and keeps a 24-week history. It isn't real
detailed but I can see that during a bad storm last week there was enough
line noise for it to take over for 5 seconds.

On the subject of putting them to good use, I wonder if they could be daisy
chained effectively to power one unit for an hour instead of 6 units for 10
minutes. But I don't know enough about the physics involved to know whether
or not that would be an enormous waste of electricity i.e. besides holding
less charge, do they become more inefficient?
