     Hmmm...  on both Win7 and XP, after you use left-click-then-drag to
select a box of text, right-click should select the text in the box and then
make the box go away.  At least it does for me.  

     You just use right-click, not right-click/copy.  No grey options box
pops up that makes you select copy.  There's no option to cut the text
instead of copy.  It just does copy by default.
