Need assistance with fpODBC

Top post:

Fp does not read Excel files.

What I would suggest is creating Access files linked to your Excel file. Then connect Fp to the that
access file for the import.

I used Access as a way to link a client's fp application and UPS World Ship. it is using their shipto file so this info only needs to be entered once and is maintained centrally.

By doing this, I don't gave to account for changes in the WorldShip data structure. UPS Handles the mapping.

The other import from WorlsShip is at the end of the day. We import from a csv file created with the end of day reports, the daily tracking information.

I also do a lot of transferring of data between our MRP software (written in Microsoft SQL Server) and fp via the ODBC link in Excel. I even took the class in Indy on the ODBC. That all being said I don't have the time to play with this and need it setup PDQ.
