I've been using MotionX for a couple of years now and like it much better
than the Garmins. For one thing, the Garmin map updates are expensive, and
I never could get them to work properly when downloaded to my MacBook Pro
to transfer to the Garmins.

I don't have a problem with the iPhone screen, navigating. If I want a
larger display, I'll run MotionX on my iPad although the only time I've
done that seriously is when in Canada where I sign up for the AT&T
International plan for 30 days to avoid huge data roaming charges on my
Verizon iPhone. MotionX on an iPad is a *SERIOUS* GPS :-).

The feature I use most frequently with the Google Maps app on the iDevices
is to search for something, then add it to my Contacts where it's
immediately available in MotionX. The method for transferring from google
Maps search results to the Garmin are a kludge at best.

paying attention to the part of the company that pushes the state of
its art: Microsoft's legal department.
