PDF (FDF) form fields to filePro

I have need to import form fields from a PDF form into filePro.
Adobe seems to save this stuff into a proprietary FDF (Forms Data Format)
file.  

I suppose if I could convert this from FDF to normal text, csv, etc,
it might not be too difficult.

Anyone done this?  is this the right route?  Also, assuming this is the
way to go, anyone have a perl script that does the conversion so I can
run it on my unix box?
