fP's MySQL capabilities?

I had heard that fP 5.7 has MySQL capabilities.  I'm curious to know the
extent of these capabilities, if they indeed exist.

Read-only?  Read/write?  Nothing?

Got an inquiry about doing an fP/MySQL integration, and I thought I'd see
where to start.  I know how I'd usually approach it, but if 5.7 has some
advantages, I'm willing to listen.
