I have a routine that call a batch file to move a trace file create by a
Perl program run from filePro.

The trace file in moved to a new directory and renamed.  The new file name
is set with putenv.   I have noted that the file is not moved.

This is run from a menu command file (batch file).  

I am considering moving the call to this batch file to command file as Perl
may still be open and locking the trace file.

Am I correct that this variable will stay set until the batch file commands
end?
