segment link error

Richard,

If you start a new segment, like in the old days, one file can be 8Gb.

key
keyx1
keyx2
keyx3

(needs datax1 - etc. also)

The indexes can get a bit big but if they are not built on long fields 
and stay less than 2Gb you are great.  We use this method to make sure 
we do not go over the 2Gb, by checking the record number of a new record 
and if it is greater than a set number we create the keyx1, datax1 set 
and all the new data after that will start writing there.

Very dynamic.  - Obviously rooting through all those records takes time 
but it can save the day on some systems.
