The CPU difference is huge. The Pentiums, at -best-, had hyperthreading.
The Xeons are fully multicore, either dual or quad depending on model, with
much bigger caches. The bus speed is probably twice what it was, as well.
Don't go purely by GHz...it's not an apples:apples metric.
