Yes, it's always been that way, and I just confirmed that my archive of
version 1.2 does, indeed, allow paths in the export:
export word foo=/tmp/foobar.csv
It is also documented in the Profile "Multi-User" 1.0 manual.
Note that, while Profile 1.0 did not have an EXPORT command, it did have
SCRIPSIT and MULTI commands for those export types. See the attached(*)
scan from the Profile 16 1.00.00 manual.

(*) Yes, I know the mailing list manager will strip the attachment.
However, it will add a URL to the bottom of this message for you can get it
