Using plain text password with Samba has been a Very Bad Idea(TM)
for years.  Create a smb.passwd entries for Samba using the
'smbpasswd -a username' command.  On current versions of Samba,
this require setting 'passdb backend = smbpasswd' in smb.conf.

What version of Samba is running on the SCO box?  I suspect it's
old, and there may well be problems with Win7.

There are also changes necessary to Win7 to get it use the long
established "Map Network Drive".  I have some information and
