Hi again,
Still looking for help on my mixed 64 bit/32 bit windows environments and printing with filepro
Here are the details again...
Have client using filepro 5.0.11DN9 on a windows 7 (64) bit machine
He has users on windows xp boxes (32) bit machines
I am mapping his drive as there drive letter I
they have bat file that has
PFDSK=I
PFPROG=I
PFPRINTER=perri
i:\fp\p menuname
printer perri is setup by pmaint as HPLASER with win:\\station1\sta1 for printer \\station1 is users computer name sta1 is share name for their printer
they have no problems accessing database and doing all functions until they go print
because the server is 64 bit and users are 32 bit can not create printer on the windows 7 box
drivers will not load.
copied from /fp/lib/config
printer1 = lp1,HPLASER,LPT1,PPP's printer
printer2 = perri,HPLASER,win:\\station2\sta2,Perri's printer
printer3 = sheila,HPLASER,win:\\station3\sta3,Sheila's printer
printer4 = diane,HPLASER,win:\\station1\sta1,Diane printer
error that comes up when running dreport as it tries to print
Cannot open print command, same error when doing a form from dclerk
LPT1: error number –1
windows error #231:
All pipe instances are busy.
Environment variables filepro sees at the time of getting error above
@pr perri
@pt HPLASER
@pd win:\station2sta2 this is the weird one in config it shows win:\\station2\sta2 ideas on why variable shows it this way
@pc Perri's printer
Summary..
1) filepro is reading the correct config
2) the LPT1: portion of error is generic in filepro
3) I can not print to 32 bit printers from filepro on windows 7 server
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Dave Rottkamp
