As of at least 5.5. I seem to remember there being a choice in 5.3, but I
could be wrong. I actually went back and re-did the 5.5 (and later did a
5.6 install) and could not find an area where I was overlooking a way to do
it. So either I'm blind, or they've moved to LVM-only.
If you find out differently, let me know where the secret is hidden. Glad
to see I'm not the only one that dislikes LVM.
Same thing would hold true for RHEL, though...
I guess it's "progress". When was the last time you saw lilo implemented.
I used to be a big fan of lilo, due to its simplicity. I eventually got
used to grub, and honestly, it is the better solution. Doesn't mean I
enjoyed the transition period.
