On Mon, Mar 07, 2011 at 11:09:22PM -0500, after drawing runes in goat's blood,
Richard Kreiss cast forth these immortal, mystical words:
> How much of this will come to the market?

That's the same video to which I was referred about a week ago via another
community. As I told those folks...
Answer: Maybe 15-20%, 10-30 years from now. Assuming the economy doesn't
implode and send us spiralling into the dark ages.
It makes great PR, name recognition, and investor hype, but so much of it
is either ill-conceived or so far off that we'll never see it.
I have a PSP. I don't even want the PSP2 with touchscreen--both my PSP and
my Samsung Solstice mobile (the latter being touchcscreen) are bloody
fingerprint and smudge magnets. Sure, Corning is -saying- smudge-
resistant in some cases, but in practise that's never actually going to be
good enough.
The only people that video is good for is Corning, and possibly the
corporation that holds the Windex brand--which probably owns shares in
Corning. (Just a guess...it makes sense, though.)
Besides...since that really cute chick didn't get laid at the end of the
video, I personally don't -want- A Day Made of Glass!
