How do you think "pushkey handles the input" that you think it needs an 
extra set of quotes?

"It works" only in the sense that the wrong thing happens to end up 
producing results that look like the result you wanted.

But it doesn't "work".  It happens to give you the results you wanted, but 
that's only because, in this particular instance, the extraneous quotes 
don't interfere with the behavior you desire.

Please don't.  Do it properly, then you don't have to worry about the wrong 
thing finally rearing its ugly head and causing problems.
