OT: view pdf file on a unix system

Somebody already pointed out xpdf, which I've used, but don't
particularly like.

There's also 'gv' from Ghostcript which works pretty well with
PDF and PostScript files.

Both of these require X11, which works nicely via ssh from other
systems as well.

Adobe's acroread was available for Linux the last time I looked,
although that's been a while as I use Apple's Preview.app for
most things PDF these days.  I generally avoid anything Adobe if
possible (any company that distributes expensive software that
won't install on a Mac with a case-sensitive file system seems
brain dead to me).

I mostly use the GoodReader App on iPhone and iPad.
