CLARIFICATION OF 5.7 ANNUAL SUBSCRIPTIONS

Top post:

This is almost like the days of small computer where there was in in-house
version of filePro with @when processing and the Radio Shack version without
it.

On paper this sounds good, however, at least from my view, they are going to
have to maintain a large number of parallel "base systems".

If an enhancement is paid for on a windows version, will it be added to the
*nix versions or vice versa?

At what point do the move to 5.8 and would the base system have all of the
5.7.0n.nn included? Of course with this numbering system, the never have to
have an 5.8.00 and the can have 5.7.99.99. this would allow them to up the
enhanced number each year hoping to keep those who bought in to the
subscription renewing.

Again sounds good on paper but the developers will have to come on with this
and the additional expense they will incur. With the way business is today,
I am not sure that they will buy into the program. Although I can't say for
sure, but my impression is it the developers who deal in specific vertical
markets are the ones who are selling filePro to support their applications.
At this point I am not aware of any direct new sales by fptech but I am sure
there are some.
