This is a process which runs credit card transactions. The program was in
the middles of the process when the error occurred.
This program is run from the office manager's workstation. Since the
program ran properly earlier in the month and I am not aware of any changes
to the system security settings (re ACL),
I don't know why this index would be locked.
The output selected records but I am told did not process any of the credit
card transactions.

One can access transaction from *clerk.

error?
There is a routine which rebuilds these indexes overnight. When I accessed
this file using this index, I had no problems.
As I was away for the last few days, I was not able to access their system
at night when I could manually have tried to rebuild this index. As I
mentioned above, the rebuild script apparently ran without a problem.
I will log in tonight after midnight, as this is when everyone will be off
the system, and see if I can manually rebuild this index.
