I believe he was suggesting that there may be some cron daemons that get
cranky when the last argument has lots of whitespace in it, and I've seen
enough cron daemons to believe that might be true of some of them.

It's always a good idea to encapsulate complicated crontab jobs in scripts 
anyway, subject to security precautions, and it's nearly a requirement for
multiline ones.
