Hey Jim, good hearing from you. I use an HP-P2035 Laser printer for most
of my fp work. The HP 6500 OfficeJet MF machine is a perfect addition
to any small office environment, copier, fax, scanner and a backup for
filePro printing if I need it. It prints 10,12,17 cpi. Landscape or
Portrait, I haven't tried color or duplex mode in fp. Sending a print job
to it in an email from the web is very cool.

Looking at the spec, it only mentions "PCL 3 GUI" as a standard(only)
internal language. Now whether or not it will print text from UNIX
someone will have to try it. I seem to recall a PCL3 GUI something in
a LINUX print setup, but I don't know how that would relate to filePro.
You will certainly be very restricted for font selection. If there is
a vanilla PCL3 side to the printer, then you could possibly download
a soft font.
It is very UNLIKELY that you would be able to print duplex from filePro,
on DOS or UNIX, as the GUI part of the PCL3 will be required. The way
the paper is typically handled, the backside needs to print upside down
for it to work. As the page is turned into a huge bitmap. it is easy
to flop it over but problematic with a text file.
I personally wouldn't purchase a printer like this as my filePro printer,
but it certainly has applications.
Wayne, can you print from filePro in both 10 cpi and 12 cpi ?
One of the DeskJet printcode tables is probably a better fit. hp-560 maybe.
