Bill's right; if there's no particular reason why the device needs to be
in 10.1/16, you should move it to the 192.168.1/24 network the rest of your
LAN is already using.
Do note that if the remote guy's LAN is also 192.168.1/24, that won't work,
unless your VPN router is quite intelligent (I think that's called NAT444).
When you say "I have set up a VPN server connection on my computer", it's not
at all clear what you mean by that; incoming VPN sessions generally terminate
on the network's edge router, not on a workstation.
Can you clarify some?
