printer recommendation request

I recently went looking for a printer similarly configured for testing
with Print Wizard, on a similar task. I ended up getting an HP Laserjet
4014n, and adding a duplexer, a stapler, and one additional input tray.
For my testing, I'm using the manual feed slot for my third input, but it
is possible to add another standard tray.

This is a monochrome laser printer; I assume you don't need color. It can
accept plain text, PCL-5, PCLXL (PCL-6), PostScript, and PDF directly.

I found HP's website confusing, in part because it might branch you into a
"home" track or a "small business" track, and the available data is not
all the same. I ended up ordering from PCZones instead.

For a SCO that old, you may have to consider interface options. Printers
don't generally come with parallel interfaces, and I don't know if one is
available.

Using Print Wizard 4, currently in beta, I set up following input
conditions:

1) Main input file is PCL-5, each invoice occurs only once, but file
contains multiple invoices.
2) Overlay is a 3-page PCL-5 file.
3) Three paper colors, in three bins, as you describe.
4) Printing front-side only.
5) Placement of both overlay and main data adjusted slightly on the page.

I succeeded in each of these scenarios:

BURST: Print the entire job once on white paper, with overlay page 1, then
once on pink paper with overlay page 2, then once on yellow paper with
overlay 3.

STAPLED SETS: Print page 1 on white with overlay page 1, page 1 on pink
with overlay page 2, page 1 on yellow with overlay 3. Staple the set.
Proceed to main page 2, etc.

I don't know about the rest of you, but *I* thought this was pretty cool!
