Some Sort of Control From The Browse Screen

Excellent idea, the @brw[key]. I like that.
I don't know about it being very implementable, by the ay congratulations on
coining a new word I'm sure to use a lot... :-) because, it really would
entail a huge new area of code that currently doesn't exist at all. Meaning,
you are at a browde with whatever records are showing on it. You arrived
there by supplying some criteria at the clerk menu and its choices... Now,
you "update" a record with this new ability... That may entail changing just
one record, or perhaps, something you did cascaded down through hundreds of
records changing lots of things... Now you have to reposition the highlight
based not only on the criteria you originally had, but on whatever just
changed. Maybe the record yo changed won't even be on the browse now.
Well, no, that's not a good example, you could have done that with the
curretntly available "u" function. What I'm getting at is, you are not
"going" to a record and running on it's input table when you are at the IUA
browse screen. You are standing where there is NO processing (of yours) at
all. Of course, this is what we want... And as I think about it, more and
more does seem possible if the new type of processing was added. But, would
it be on the INPUT table only? Why not something also on the AUTOMATIC
table so that records could automatically include or exclude themselves from
showing on the browse. Boy, it gets complicated. Ron Kratz would be the
one to illuminate how much of this is possible and/or easy. I believe his
original enhancements for the browse itself included multiple lines and
updateable fields as a starter. Of course, that really entails a huge amount
of "change" right there. Just updateing a field could cause zillions of
other changes to occur and to my small mind... The ramifications are
unending.
