FP installation in Windows7

Windows will advise that an unsafe program is trying to run.

MS wants to keep most executable files out of the root directory especially
bat files.

Can one get around the warnings, yes of you try hard enough. Since the fp
and filepro directories can be easily moved from c:\ to c:\appl\ and the
startup file adjusted to point to these, I would strongly recommend
following this advice.

I do nothing but work with filePro on Windows systems. Even on server
installations both Server 2003 and Server 2008, filepro is installed \appl\.
On my laptop running Windows 7, filepro development is installed c:\appl\.
However, as I also have some client's applications installed, their apps are
installed as c:\clientname for the filepro directory, and fp\menus for their
menus.

FilePro will run no differently than before but just be one level deeper.
Besides, there is a limit to the number of files and directories allowed in
the root directory. I seem to remember that it is 255 but I may be wrong.
