Re Windows tasks

Richard,
I have also had issues with tasks running on Win2003. When no one is
logged in to the server, some resources are not available. Drives are
not mounted, security of various kinds have not been established.
We have tasks running and thought we had them running without a login
active. We installed a windows upgrade and rebooted and they all
stopped. I suspect someone was really logged in and the reboot
disconnected them.
All our tasks have a password and should run without the login, but we
can not find the reason either. So we just leave an admin user logged
it. It goes back to asking for the password if you open the window, but
the tasks run.
I think it is a Win2003 server issue. We use some of the clients for
tasks also, (winXP machines) and they work just fine. Like you say it
is difficult to troubleshoot because if you test the script, you are
logged in. So it works. Same problem we had when testing this stuff.
Good luck. Just leave the login and move on.
