defined dummy field not viewable in browse

It is simply NOT possible to view dummy fields on the *clerk browse screen.
The browse simply picks up the data in real fields on every record. No
processing is done at all. Ever since browse first came around, it was a
wishlist item to have a new type of processing called browse processing, but
there has never been any meeting of the minds regarding this topic It opens
up not only kettles, but oceans of fish.
You can, of course, design a processing browse that shows the same records
with any dummies you can think of properly shown. I know that's not exactly
what you want to hear, but it's the only answer.
