Here's wishing all of you all the best for a happy, healthy and safe New
Year.

A reading suggestion for the New Year -- Read through the filePro help file
from A to Z.

This might sound odd especially for experienced filePro programmers. Over
the years we get set on our ways and do programming using a specific set of
functions to accomplish our goal. With all of the functions that have been
added and/or enhanced over the years, you may not be aware or have forgotten
that one has been added or enhanced that will help you streamline your
programming or allow you to do something more easily.

It is one thing to use the help file to explain how to properly use a
particular command or function that you already know, it is something else
to find it when you have no idea what it is called or if it exists. I have
found a number of functions over the years by periodically reading through
the help files which I then started to use.

As for reading material on filePro, I use Stuart Werner's filePro
Developer's Reference, Laura Brody's Quick Reference Guide, and the filePro
help files. I also have John Esak's filePro Survivor's Series, but this
isn't reading material.

There is a lot of functionality available but you need to know it is there
or remember that it is there.
