Chris,

My Sony manual said to make all the connection prior to plugging in the
unit. It said nothing about any of the other peripherals.

The only way I know that the HDMI was not working was I connected a DVD
player directly to the set and got no video. After the reboot of the set, I
got video from the DVD player.

One other thing, all of the Av equipment is connected to an APC SmartUps.
This proved itself the other day when the power went out for about 2
minutes. The set operated until the power returned.

I would strongly suggest that using even an inexpensive battery backup unit
with ones AV equipment. The units I am using were given to me by clients
when they replaced these with newer larger capacity units. My only cost has
been replacement batteries. The cost of the batteries is less than many of
the inexpensive battery backup units available.

Richard
