You forget the original Radio Shack 8MB hard drive, the huge one
that chirped like a bird, the primary one cost about $4,500, and

Seagate came out recently with a hybrid SSD/HDD drive that
combines solid state and conventional rotating hard drive in a
single unit at a fairly reasonable price.  Newegg has the 500GB
unit today for $129.99.  This is a 2.5in drive, thus would be a
major upgrade on most laptops that have slower drives.
