Ken,

You may be correct. Here is the situation. Our MRP software runs under
Microsoft SQL Server SQL(7). Been in place operational for over 12
years. I know ODBC works on it as each night I update 13 Excel
spreadsheets which have odbc link to this database. Then I save them as
dif files and run a batch file of about 20 processes that update fp.
Again this has been in place for over 8 years. I know fpodbc can do the
same. I even took the class in Indy. I just don't have the time to
open the manual and refresh this old brain.

I know the path to the SQL database. Maybe someone could walk me
through setting up fp to read that link and update. I just don't know.

Any thoughts out there?

Do you really need the person on-site? It may be that the people with
such experience aren't in the Chicago area, and so they didn't respond.

Is MS SQL Server already installed and configured? If so, must the
person have specific MS SQL Server ("SQL7" according to your OP)
experience, or would fPODBC experience with other (non-MS) SQL servers
be sufficient?
