Yes, it's dead easy. You will be put on our email mailing list. This is a
group of filePro de3velopers and users who send questions about filePro
around e3ach day. You send a note to the list, it is distributed to everyone
who is signed up. If someone has an answer for you, they respond. Their
response will go directly to your email and *not* to the list *unle4ss* they
feel it is an answer worthwhile enough for the whole list to hear. Then,
they would include the address of the list in the cc., or just answer to the
list and expect you to read it.
I'll post your question today by virtue of copying this email to the list
and say you will be joining the list today sometime. It has been going for
nearly 27 years now... Non-stop. You can get any question about filePro
answered.... And ancillary questions like this one about Samba if you list
it as OT (off topic) and it applies somehow to your carrying on work in
filePro. Once you've signed up, you use the
filepro-list at lists.celestial.com as the address to post your questions.
Answeres will be sent automatically to the questioner... And can be4
specifically directed to this address if you want the whole list to reade
them. I would say that I send my answeres to the whole list 90% of the
time, and don't usually reply to the sender at all. I figure he put the
question on the list aned should be checking the list daily for not only his
answer but other threads that might interest him. (or her of course).
Good luck
Join the filePro email list by going to the following link... Rememberr you
can not post your own email to the list address until you go to the main
address URL below and sign up as a member. You can go inactive any time you
like. I think you'll enjoy the list...
