As I remember, the primary HD, which came with the controller,
was $4,500 1983 dollars (close to $10,000 today after the FED's
inflation).  The secondaries were a grand less.  I forget what
the model 16 and 6000 machines sold for then, but the Model 2 and
Model 12s sold for $3,899 with 64K RAM and a single 8in drive (at
least the model 12s and 6000s 8in drives were double sided at no
increase in price).  A typical system for word processing with
Model 12, Daisy Wheel II, one external floppy, Scripsit,
Visicalc, and Profile II wouldn't leave much change from $10,000.

One of the first Model 16/6000 systems I sold in early 1983 had
the hard drives stolen, fortunately the thief left the controller
in the machine (perhaps the machine was too heavy for him :-).
