filePro and Hand-held wireless scanners

Has anyone ever gotten a filePro (SCO Unix) application to work in a
hand-held wireless scanner?

In other words, an application that would read and store bar codes and then
interact with an inventory application (also filePro) to receive and ship
merchandise?

Has anyone done this or anything else with hand-held wireless scanners and
filePro?
