Voice and filePro

You mentioned voice INPUT (not text-to-speech) for filePro on Windows. You
might start with exploring what Windows itself already offers. This varies
depending on version of Windows, of course.

Up through Windows XP, voice input was available either a) if the TabletPC
code was installed, or b) if certain versions of Office was installed.

In Vista and 7, TabletPC logic is included for all systems, although it
may need to be installed. I wish I could draw a Venn diagram.

Windows voice input is trainable, and in fact must be trained bu the user.
When it is active, and it recognizes text, it will issue it as keystrokes
to the active (focused) application, so the app doesn't need to be written
to handle such input. So filePro should work.

Where it can get tricky is on correction and navigation. In a filePro APP
you can't "undo" in the same sense as in other programs, and you may not
be able to move the cursor around in the same way.

All the above is based on some intermittent testing over the last few
years. YYMV. I have tested primarily with voice input to Anzio, which
works similarly.

Note that there is also text-to-speech (TTS) provided with Windows.
AnzioWin allows you to try it out, using the "Speak" button on the
standard toolbar.
