Subject: lockfile

Good morning all...

After running a report for several years and not having made any changes
this morning I and every one else trying to run this report has encountered
an error.

The first runnings produced several different errors
disk error
files with names as just symbols
and now after rebooting the system it is just down to what seems to be a
lockfile
I say this because there was an error that said lockfile and now it just
makes a ding sound and prints the first record in the report to the screen.

I have deleted the lockfile from the file directory and whenever this report
is run the lockfile returns.

Any suggestions??
This is a filepro 5.06 running on a sco unix server.

Thanks
-Ivan

Ivan,

Filepro will always create a lockfile. They are not to be deleted on a
whim. If one must be deleted, insure that everyone is out of that file and
stays out before deleting it.

Suggestion, send emails to the list in plain text. There are a number of
very knowledgeable people on the list whose email clients do not handle
formatted email text easily. In many cases they will not answer these
emails.

If you are using Outlook, just select options and click on Plain Text.
