I have not, personally, used Win 2008, in any edition. But when you say
"upgraded", what, exactly, did they "upgrade"? Did they take an existing
Windows system (which release?), and install Win 2008, or did they get a new
system entirely? (And do you have specs on the system?)
I've seen plenty of people who "upgraded" their systems to a new Windows
release beyond the capabilities of their hardware. (Sometimes, a "friend"
tries to be "helpful", and installs a new version for them. Which not only
causes problems of the hardware not being up to snuff, but will often result
on a Windows installation that won't pass WGA activation.)
