I followed the direction that fpsales has sent me to upgrade to 5.06.08 and I get this error message.
filePro has not been tarred into the /tmp/fpinstall/appl/fp directory.
Please restart installation.
Anyone have any ideas of what I'm Doing Wrong by following these directions

Download only the Full Development package
Put this file in the /tmp directory
Logged in as root, type:
cd /tmp
gunzip FullDev.tar.gz
When done, type:
tar -xvf FullDev.tar
When done, type:
./fpinstall/finish
Follow the on screen instructions for the No Change installation.
Rebuild the indexes and then reboot the machine.

Dennis,
We are not sure why you are writing to us when we told you this latest revision might fix your issue. Our records show that you have not downloaded and installed the latest 5.6.08 revision that support said could fix your problems. Make sure you reboot the machine to clear all the old possibly corrupted memory locations.

The fix for when exiting
Is this when someone get booted off for what ever reasons or maybe he hits the X in widows anzio instead of exiting out thru filepro. The user is off the server say's he still on
This is what my problem is.
That's my need for additional user
So I'm still interested in increasing my user count . and if I buy a 20 user can these license be divide up on different machine or they all go on one machine. and what does this do to the price.
Thanks
Denny

I have now 5 user DEV. license and if I do this I will have a 5 user development as well as
20 license runtime do I have to install all of these on 1 machine or
5 on each or even 1 on a machine let me know how this works, If we put all these on one machine how do you know if dev or runtime is running
Denny
when we went over our 5 user limit it shut down all users that were on the system why doesn't filepro limit that user instead of shutting down the whole network. We had to reboot the server to fix this. this is my main reason for doing this so this doesn't happen again.
Also I have this program in filepro that I maybe selling on the market do you have a dealer agreement so we can sell filepro also. if so give me info on this as well.

Dennis,
We can do $1615.00 on a quantity of 20 runtime licenses. That is a 15% discount.

A login is a session. It does not matter if they are from the same PC as filePro is licensed by session and not seat.
You currently have 5 user Development. If you want 10 user Runtime, you would need to buy 2 - 5 user Runtime license packages at $475.00 each. There may be some specials coming but we have not been notified of any. We can give you a 10% discount because you are an existing customer. That would make it $950.00 less 95.00 for a total of $ 855.00 and that would get you to 5 user Development and 10 user Runtime.

5 now and maybe 10 or 20 if the price is right. also
I exceeded my user count by logging into my server 6 times on the same pc. I would think that would be considered 1 login since it's the same pc.
But please give me a price on 10 and 20 user upgrade

You would download the new license from our website. We would send you the instructions at that time.
You currently have a 5 user complimentary runtime license in your 5 user Development license. You do not need to do anything at the present time. Support notified us that a revision update due out next week might address your issues. We would recommend that you wait for that and see. If you continue to have problems after that, we will address your issues with maybe some debug logging to see if we can isolate why you are loosing available licenses.

Dennis,
Support sent this inquiry on to us in sales.
You currently have a Linux 5 user Development. We do not know if you need 5 Developers. We can change some of those to just Runtime users and add additional Runtime users for $ 145.00 per user or $ 475.00 for a 5 user package. It would only require a new license from our website. Let us know how many and we can give a fix quote.

Dennis,
If you truly are not exceeding the maximum number of users, you should not be exceeding your user count unless users are exiting improperly from filePro. If you reboot the Linux machine, all your licenses will be free to use. Make sure that all exits of filePro is done through the proper filePro keystrokes displayed on the screen so that licenses will not be left in use in error.
