Well, I hope I change this thread a little to levity by just saying...

> We see this most often when people install our product in 60 day demo
mode, and it prints the date the product will stop working during
installation
> (and waits for an approval), and then every day in printed and emailed
backup reports when the 60 day period is about to end (and when they run
> edgemenu), but when they call us after the demo has run out for an
activation it is an emergency. There's only so much a company can do.

Okay Tom, I know who you're talking about!! :-) Seriously, whether he is
or isn't. I can verify that I have done this exact thing to them more than
once. Usually I don't register EDGE on my own or my family's machines until
that final dire warning, YOUR 60 days is up! And yes, I have seen it 59
times before. :-) Okay, guilty, caught red-handed. It actually is a funny
comment on something about our inherent SysAdmin skills (or lack of them)
that allows us to just put off until last the things which let us put them
off until last. :-)

Anyway, I comment on Tom's line only because I just call them at the day and
time it happens, and one of the nice women there sends me back the
registration sheet with the activation key. And Microlite even make it easy
to get registered by allowing you to print, fax or email the thing any time
during those 59 days! Like I say, just my bad... Oh God! Did I actually
just say that? And I didn't go back and erase it... That's it... Do I feel
it getting very cold out.. yes, it does seem that things are freezing
over... Glrugh! Funny, I never thought Ice-9 looked like that... Help, it's
creeping in ghrough the doors and windwos...aaaahahhh, it's coming up my
chair , it's fffrrreeezzziiinnnggg mmmmyyyyy
fffffiiiinnnnggggeeerrrrsssss....uh oh...

P.S. - Before the whole world goes to ultimate zero...

Mark, I think everyone here sympathizes with you that you were left with a
system that a *truly* bad or at least inept SysAdmin screwed that customer
and you over. But, I think everyone here would blame that guy, not you...
And not Microlite.

And as your conselation prize... If I ever say "my bad" again, you may slap
me until I can't talk anymore...

John
