another -v processing question

Ken,
I scan through the file using the -v. As the file was getting larger and
larger it was taking very long to finish up. Select was used to pull the
file.
In answer to your question, I wasn't expecting anything except for what I
was getting. I posted the question to see if anyone was aware of how to take
advantage of an auto index in the -v processing. My question was answered by
a number of responders on the list including you.
The suggestion provided now allows me to take advantage of the automatic
index so the processing now is almost instantaneous.
Wonderful suggestion.
I'm not sure what more you are looking for Ken. Pretty simple stuff.
Any further questions give me a buzz or if you want me to call you let me
know. No need to take up the time of those on the list.
Thanks!
